1997 Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port
from 375ml. Initial decanter nose of prunes and dark chocolate, then later ripe plums. Good midpalate intensity and finish, although seems fairly one-dimensional. A couple of years ago this had more youthful purple color, now is more ruby in color with slight bricking at the rim. I have 2 left in this format and will be drinking them up sooner rather than later. 88 pts.

Re: 1997 Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port
Thanks for the note, I've got some of these but can't remember when the last time I've had one. Looks like I need to crack one and see if the 750's are holding up a little better than the halves.

I look forward to trying this again too, but I'll probably wait until it turns 20.
