2003 Quinta de la Rosa LBV Port

Post by John M. »

Paired up against a 2003 Grahams LBV—each port was double decanted 24 hours in advance (I decanted both just to keep the aeration consistent for the tasting). Traditional cork; unfiltered. Sorry for the spartan notes.

Sweet and smooth; well integrated. Piquant plum flavor plus dark berries.

The consensus with the group was the Grahams was the winner; but a split decision (10 v 2).

No surpise the Graham's won with a majority over this one. This looks like it was a great time with all the Ports. No better way to learn than to put a bunch side by side for some direct comparisions.
