2005 Quarles Harris LBV Port

Post by Jim R. »

Opened 9/27/11 Light garnet color. On opening low intensity cherries, plum, allspice nose; soft, watery, low intensity plum and mocha flavors, good balance, slightly hot finish
1 1/2 hour- lighter cherry, plum, allspice nose, slight mustiness to cherry, plum flavors, good balance and integration
2 1/2 hour- musty, slightly cooked plum nose, slightly heavier bodied than previous tastes, cherry and plum flavors, balanced
2 days- light, clean candyish cherry. plum nose; light to medium bodied cherry flavors, thinning out in the finish, some heat noticeable now, not structured to stay for any length of time, OK LBVP for inexpensive port fix, 87 to 89 points, needs more body and structure

Nice! Not easy to find Quarles Harris LBV's outside of Trader Joe's. Is that where you found this bottle?
