NV Dow's Trademark Finest Reserve Ruby Port

Post by John M. »

This is a nice ruby--I took no notes but here are my impressions. Dark purple, a fruity nose of blackberry and blueberry. The taste brought the same dark, ripe fruit plus a hint of something earthy/herbal. Medium finish that is moderately dry. Opened on a pop and pour and the wine wasn't too hot. On day two, the alcohol was more subdued and overall, better. 90 points.

That's quite a positive assessment for a relatively modest wine - but considering its source, not entirely a surprise. I'll give it a shot too. Thanks for the note!

I haven't had the opportunity to try this Port in a very long time. Nice to hear it is such a fine Ruby Reserve. I'll have to see out a bottle.
