NV Calem Tawny Port -- Velhotes

Post by Stewart T. »

Portugal, Douro, Porto (10/2/2006) - Bouquet of nuts and wood. Velvety, fruity and balanced. Missing some of the tannins that would have helped the overall structure, and there was a little heat on the finish. FTLOP Port Harvest Tour 2006 – Calem Visit (82 pts.)

Phew. All I could think of is why in god's great earth would you ever purchase these bottles of Velhotes? Of course I remember when we drank them at Calem during that first tour of yours. But when I saw current TN's I thought maybe you had taken a loss of your sense.

What? I just bought four cases of this nectar, going to age it for about 20 years and retire on the profits from selling it to "REAL" Port affectionados... LOL
