2000 Warres LBV Port

Post by John M. »

Opened 18 hours ahead. Not a lot of sediment. Really how surprised how dark this is--very rich, deep purple with just a hint of red on the rim. There is a chocolate note to this with a hint of cherry (cordial), nicely sweet with a moderate finish. Just enough tannins to make it interesting. Finish is moderate. Very nice and easy to drink. Glad I have some more of this (plus I have a 1999).

Only about 1/2 of the bottle was consumed, so I vacuum sealed and put in the fridge. 5 days later I finished the rest and there was no drop off in enjoyment--this held up very well.

Overall, a very good LBV. For being 11 years old, it was still quite fruity.
