1999 Smith Woodhouse LBV Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 11 hours - Bottled unfiltered in 2003. Deep red in colour, young and opaque. Rich on the nose, full of blackcurrant and applemint. A touch hollow on entry, but then a full bodied and tannic port reveals itself, accompanied by plenty of fruit and acidity - lovely floral tones in the blackcurrant fruit. A big aftertaste and huge finish, tingling aniseed and black chocolate that lasts an immense time. A big port drunk far too early in its life! 89 points
