1980 Taylor Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 1 hour - One of the ports from the list of the Crusting Pipe. Slightly darker in colour than the G83 shown alongside, 70% opaque. Dusty redcurrants on the nose and a touch of mintiness. Spicy and hot entry, with the spiciness dominating the generous levels of fruit. Lots of maturity to this port, with much of the fruit flavours being of dried fruit. Hot aftertaste and a hot start to the finish, which morphs into a pleasant strawberry jelly of decent length. Very pleasant current drinking. 89 points
