A little dirty under the capsule, a bit of leakage and crustiness there, the cork unfortunately did not come out well, but was easily caught in my stainless steel mesh strainer. Unbelieveable amount of sediment. Fairly light in color for VP, showing a beautiful bright red once enough was in the glass, with a pinkish / tawny edge. Nice fruit and menthol on the nose, alcohol was not outlandish, but certainly was present / part and parcel of the presentation without being a bear. Sweetness nicely subdued with savory notes in the flavor profile, as well as good tannins, Indicating to me that this could potentially have another five to ten years before being way too long in the tooth, but a drink em while you got em approach is not unwarranted here..... Not as impressive as the 77 Fonseca from a few weeks ago, but certainly held its own.
