1980 Ducal Vintage Port

  • 1980 Ducal Porto Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto (7/21/2012)
Mostly brown in color with a touch of red. Definitely tired. It comes off more as a tawny but without the mouthfeel of a good tawny. The alcohol calmed down after a few hours in the decanter, leaving some good sweetness with an interesting (not necessarily enjoyable) flavor of mint. Not much to enjoy here, so drink up if you have it and avoid it if you don't. (75 pts.)

I've seen some of this at auction for cheap, now I know why. Thanks for the heads up.
