1984 Churchill Crusted Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 9 hours - Mature appearance, hint of amber colour on the rim. Dusty strawberries on the nose, but faint. Sweet red licorice immediately obvious on the palate, lots of sweet - almost candied strawberry - dominate the palate but with almost enough acidity to support the sweetness. Thickly textured, hugely flavoured. A bit of heat on the aftertaste, but a long and very fine sweet tobacco finish that goes through many phases. Delicious port, a very enjoyable bottle. 91 points
