1963 Cockburn Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 12 hours - Burnt orange in colour, well into a mature appearance; 20% opaque. Lovely ripe, black cherries on the nose, intense and concentrated with a lovely meat juice tone - delightfully complex. Modest body, with a slow developing flavour profile, lots of interwoven layers but showing little fruit, rather sweet clover honey and bitters to give balance. A big flare of heat on the aftertaste and then a lovely long finish, sweet and well balanced with a great length. Served blind this was guessed to be Taylor 1960. 89 points
