NV Croft Vintage Character Ruby

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 5 hours - Bottled in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Very pale, light orange in colour and giving off an amazing smell of brown bananas when being decanted. 5% opaque. Gentle on the nose, nothing more than a bit of soft lime. Soft, sweet orange fruit on the attack, with the mid-palate hinting at being sweet but actually being quite dry. Bitter-sweet fresh orange zest, with a touch of brown sugar. Delicious aftertaste and surprisingly long and powerful finish. Old and faded, but still drinkable. 82 points
