1970 Fonseca Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 15 hours - Corney & Barrow bottled. Deep colour, nice rim; 60% opaque. Subdued on the nose; gentle bramble but not well developed or well pronounced. Sweet and concentrated entry; lovely texture and palate presence, full of gnetle sweet jelly bean. Patience allows the structure of the port to show through. An initially hot aftertaste, with a rather high level of acidity showing, followed by a dark chocolate and raisin finish. Other bottles of this port have shown much better. 91 points
