1983 Messias Cachao Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind in a lineup of 1983 Vintage Ports

Brown and murky in appearance; while the murkiness might be avoided with a careful decant, I’m not so sure about the color. Aromas of light must and dark caramel. Fairly dry, but then sweet too! Cinnamon and Asian spice (not picante, but more like Asian nutmeg, etc.). More sweet later on with dark berry fruit jam. 90 points.

Nice to see it held up-It was a nice low cost port when released.

Not easy to find in USA, but there was this one ... just hanging out and waiting for us.
