Picked this up at Trader Joe's for $12.99 USD. Popped and poured. At first I thought the nose was rubbing alcohol, and as I stuck my nose further and further into the glass, I could swear I caught a whiff of sawdust. These scents mellowed out by the end of my glass.
Strong blackberry and plum flavors (with a cherry taste that lingers afterwards?). Nice tannic finish, little heat. However a the end of my glass I felt some heat start to develop. (The wife had an early taste and felt it was "not too strong" aka no heat and not a high alcohol or tannic finish - and fruity).
I will try this all weekend long to see how it develops. I am not good with rating numbers, but reaching upwards to an 88 at this point. You can't beat the price.

I first saw this LBV at TJ's too and thought the price was worthy of a purchase. Took it home and enjoyed the bottle and went back for another pair to give to people to try their first Port wine. Both have been converts.

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
