1992 Quinta do Infantado Vintage Port
This was one of my favorite Vintage Ports when it was released. I'm curious how it aged. It was a bruiser on release, but it might have mellowed with time. From a very slight leaker - the color is totally opaque. Amazing after all these years that the color is still so dark! The Blackberry and coffee nose is very inviting. This is still quite young. Really thick and fruity. Some very slight notes of maturity, but this is still an over-sized wine.... and totally delicious! Big and brash, it fills the palate and doesn't apologize for it. The flavor is dominated by chocolate and black fruits. Very long finish, without a lot of tannins. There is a very slight touch of heat, but the bottle wasn't exactly cool. An excellent VP, that is in middle age. Wonderfully drinkable! I would be drinking these over the next 5-10 years. 93 points.
