2011 Taylor Vintage Port

Post by Gerwin de Graaf »

Part of Taylor’s Masterclass
Flight 4
Colour: Purple black.
Nose: fresh red fruit, fruit, fruit and more fruit.
Taste: tannins, extremely concentrated, lots of red fruit, very powerfull.
Finish: Extremely Powerfull VP, medium length finish though.
Conclusion: I’ve had too little experience with young VP’s to really give a usefull judgement, but it was so good at this point. I can’t imagine this not going to turn out te be an exemplary classic VP in many decades to come.

Gerwin,

May I ask how long you decanted this for?

I asked. Like all VP's for the Masterclass this one was decanted in late morning (around 11 AM), and was tasted at around 10.30 PM. It was double decanted (back into the bottle) though, so maybe the exposure to fresh air was limited.
