If there was only one Quinta in the Douro Valley you could visit which would it be and why?

How true. Assuming we don't, though, my #1 at this point would be Quinta dos Malvedos. As I've explored VP (remember that I started out as a Tawny-only guy) I've found that my favorites are Graham, Vesuvio, and Fonseca. Since I've already visited Quita do Vesuvio and Quinta do Panascal, it seems like visiting Graham's primary Quinta should be next on my list.

Quinta Roeda would be neat. I have had all the Croft Vintages in over a 100 years (maybe not since 2007) plus the sheer size of the quinta. I'd like to visit Vargellas or Vesuvio again; epic beauty in both. I suppose Noval-Nacional, just because...

Noval would be a strong candidate if we do have access to the cellars. Neat vineyard, the Nacional plot, then all that Nacional and colheitas in the cellars.

I'd really like to visit Quinta do Grifo, right up in the Douro Superior, and while I'm there also see the cave paintings in the Cao National Park.

For me...a tough choice for sure. I've been exceedingly lucky to have visited a good number of Quinta's and all are special in their own right. Yet one always touches me like no other has, no matter how many times I've been there. That being, Quinta do Vesuvio.

I have lots of cherished memories from my visits there, and even those aside, the sheer beauty and remoteness of it is incredible. The magical powers this seems to possess me with when I set foot there is amazing. It has been and is still my most favorite place to visit in the Douro. If you ever get the chance to go, drop everything and say "Yes"! I promise you won't be disappointed.

Quinta do Vale Meao, because spending time with Vito and Zinha Olazabal is one of the greatest pleasures I have experienced in the Douro. I love being able to visit someone with a half century of experience and Vito has run one of the most dynamic Port companies in its time, an innovator of Douro wines back in its day (Ferreirinha) and he shares his knowledge and remarkable stories during the visits.
