8 Hour Decant
Consumed over 3 days
The nose is very primary, with a lot of fruit and some baking spice. The palate is also primary in flavor, but rather mature in structure. This seems like it was never a bruiser to begin with, but as opposed to just being soft and fat, it seems to have a wonderful balance that I've only found in mature wines. No hard edges, but it matches the light weight body. Very interesting mix of young flavor and mature structure. I really like this, especially considering it was under $30 a bottle all told at auction. Holds up well, though getting a bit soft at the very end of the 3 days.

Sounds much like the one I had last year. It's Noval's third tier VP port if you will, after the Nacional and Noval. I have a few bottles of this, the '00 Silval, and the '00 Noval, both of which I will have to drink before they ever reach maturity.

I've not had this in a long time, but I recall it being very good as well.
