Wonderful aromas with creamy caramel, cotton candy, and possibly meringue. Dulce de leche. Flavors of lighter, subtle fruits and dried strawberry. Alcohol warmth carried into the medium long finish. Not scored at the time, so I'll have to give a fairly large range after the fact of 88-92 points.
This was the second bottle out of a mixed auction lot, and this was the more advanced of the two, although the first was definitely mature as well. Drink up!

Re: 1960 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port
When it was younger, circa 1990-2000, this was a stellar Port. I had it a bunch in the mid-1990's when it was still hovering around peak. I have had it since but only a couple of times. Glad to read your note on this. I save nearly all of my 1960 bottlings of Port to drink with my brother who was born that year. There are still some good one's around, Ferreira comes to mind and I will have to open one of these the next time I see my brother. Thanks for the note, Eric. It is always good to have a current reference from a palate that I trust.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
