Re: What have you opened this week?
Delicious juice, lots of (good ripe) red fruit on nose and palate and a good balance on alcohol/tannine/fruits. Will finish the bottle off somewhere this weekend (I tend to enjoy LBV's over a longer period of time instead of drinking them up quickly - that's reserved for VP-)Brad Bogdan wrote:Gerwin de Graaf wrote:1997 Niepoort LBV

This afternoon I opened a bottle of Warre 2002 LBV - really very good at the moment.

How is it? I got a case of these during the FTLOP buying opportunity, but I haven't opened one yet. I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts!Gary Richardson wrote:1987 Souza Vintage Port.

Re: What have you opened this week?
It is quite good. Not overly complex and beginning to mature. I don't see it getting better, so I would suggest drinking up. It is keeping me away from my '55s, '63s, and '70s
It is in a really good spot right now, though.

Had a wonderful weekend up in the mountains hiking and such. Got a little Port in with a Niepoort 20 year Tawny and a 2000 Offley Boa Vista VP.

I've had a mid-shoulder bottle of Martinez 1963 on death row for a while. It got opened yesterday and is pale and weak, but OK for domestic drinking.

1970 Royal Oporto (Real Companhia Velha) Porto Vintage
Slightly corked. I could still drink it, but I didn't enjoy it as much as another one of these I've had before.
