1985 Dow Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 2 hours - From magnum. By colour, this is in the early phase of maturity with the first signs of bricking on the rim. 80% opaque. Warm and very attractive on the nose with lots of mace infused plum or dark cherry - still a touch aggressive even. Soft and smooth on entry, with a lovely texture. Dry plums on the palate with some dry tannins that attempt to be aggressive and which are powerful enough to tingle but never to dominate. A long fabulous, dry aftertaste and a great length. Enjoyable, but in need of more time to finish pulling itself together. 91 points
