2000 Fonseca Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 9 hours - Opaque centre and a youthful appearance. Sharp nose, dominated by acidity and stewed fruit. Dark chocolate and black cherries on the palate, with gentle charcoal tannins supporting. Chocolatey aftertaste and finish of good length. The finish is really fine, but this comes across as a modest bodied port that will not be a long-lived bottle. Served blind this was guessed to be Vargellas 1991. 86 points
