1970 Warre Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 48 hours - Brick red, 60% opaque. Gentle nose, a touch of malty sweetness fighting against sour cranberry fruit. Modest body, lively fruit driven entry and some lovely fruit development. Tannins are very gentle but still give a soft nutmeg spiciness to the mid-palate and a twist of tobacco at the end. Hints of sweet bubblegum on the aftertaste, before some heat and a long, lingering fruit and coffee finish. Very refined and elegant port, drinking extremely well. 91 points
