Yours for $75 lol... I can't imagine it's even worth $60. I'll bring up older stuff when we come up to Montreal.

It really grew on me. I liked it a lot. The good news is the store has a few more bottles of it at a good price. I'm going to pick them up and lay them down for another 5 years or so as I think it hasn't reached its peak yet.

Agreed. The bottle that we had at Quinta do Silva last year was young. I'm still holding on time mine!Mike J. W. wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 11:04 pmIt really grew on me. I liked it a lot. Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
These bottles, along with some 1966 Ports and others were up for auction at Acker. I inquired about them and asked for a photo. In the original photo you can see that the 1896 label is not the original, but a reproduction/mod made with late 1980s/early 1990s technology. The price was consistent with an 1896 at auction. The 1920 was a total bargain because it was listed as 1995 in the auction, with 1920 in the notes. But if I had to bet on a year for that bottle, I'd bet on 1920. I think the owner just put those notes on it in 1995, which appears on the top-right of the label.

Great haul Eric. You have some really nice bottles there. Even the '85 Barros is no slouch. In fact, that bottle was my introduction to vintage Port.Eric Menchen wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 8:59 amports_small.jpg

I had bought a bottle on a lark from a local store. I had always dabbled with inexpensive Rubies, but saw this on sale at a local wine store and decided to try it. It was so much better than anything I had ever had before and I was hooked.
Enjoy those bottles. You hit a home run with that group.
