It's usually around ~$34 but was able get them to knock off a little. It's a popular port at the mom & pop liquor stores, or packy's (package store) as we call them in MA. The big guys don't carry it usually.

I used to see the 10, 20 & 30 yo at my local liquor store for several years and they were cheap, but not that cheap. For whatever reason, they stopped carrying them. I still have a few of their 10 yo's left.

Very nice haul, Randy! Were these all at auction? If so, do you mind saying what auction house? Btw, great price on the Vesuvio!

Amex payment has gone through, so while I'm still waiting for this to release I guess it's technically been "purchased" now.

6 x 1995 Vesuvio Library Release
3 x 2003 Graham Library Release
3 x NV Graham's Six Grapes Vila Velha Special Edition

1995 Vesuvio was my first introduction to their Ports and remains my second most purchased. I didn't try the 1994 until quite a bit later - I'd had 2005 and 2007 before I ever got around to 1994. So when this Library Release came up, I had to grab another 6-pack of it.

Also just finalized this purchase:

1958 Graham's Malvedos
1964 Graham's Malvedos
1965 Graham's Malvedos
1968 Graham's Malvedos
1966 Graham’s x6
1991 Vesúvio
1992 Vesúvio

The 2 x Vesúvio were just "fillers" to make a case of 12, but they're pretty nice fillers. :-)

Fantastic purchases! The '66 Graham's is really good. I haven't had any of those older Malvedos, where did you find them?

These all came from Vintage and Fine Wines in CA. That's the SFE importer for the US. They tend to be on the expensive side, but most of these were in their "reserve" of bottles not 100% suitable for sale, so I got some small discounts. Just enough to bring them back into the "okay this is sort of reasonable" price range. They still have quite a few Malvedos bottles in that age range. If you're interested let me know and I can hook you up with my contact since none of these are listed on their website.

I've been a big fan of the '66 Graham since Roy's Top Twelve (the article) dropped way back in about 2008 or 2009. I haven't had any for a while, but last I tasted it I thought it had bigger bones than the 1970 which I also love.

1964 and 1965 are our birth years, and 1968 is my brother-in-law's, so that's the excuse for those 3.

1958 has a story behind it... short version is that a store in Portugal swore up and down that they had a 1958 Graham, despite my protests that such a declaration was never made and so it had to be a Malvedos, so I bought it only to find out that it is probably a 1955 Graham. (The label had a perfectly placed tear that makes it impossible to tell if the last digit is a 5 or an 8.) They they did some investigating of their own and determined that their source probably wasn't 100% solid like they thought, so they refunded my money but let me keep the bottle. But that made me want to get a 1958 Malvedos to go with the story.

You had me at 1966 Graham's Glenn. Such an incredibly near-perfect Graham's VP. Wish I hadn't broken 2 magnums of it.

My purchase was a pristine bottling of 1955 Kopke.

Only beaten for sure (at least to me) by the 1927. I'd need to do a head-to-head-to-head to judge it against 1945 and 1948.

Anyone want to set that up? I'm available that day. [yahoo.gif]

But isn’t the 1942 better than 1945 and 1948?
