4 bottles of 20 year Maynards for $34 each. A little more expensive than the last time.

You had me at 1966 Graham's Glenn. Such an incredibly near-perfect Graham's VP. Wish I hadn't broken 2 magnums of it.
Only beaten for sure (at least to me) by the 1927. I'd need to do a head-to-head-to-head to judge it against 1945 and 1948.
Anyone want to set that up? I'm available that day.
But isn’t the 1942 better than 1945 and 1948?
Ok, I suppose that should be added to the head-to-head, too.

12 - 2003 Warre VP
8 - 2020 Warre Vinhas Velhas VP
PA state stores were clearing them out at $38 and $58 respectively, couldn't say no! Every once in a while, there's a perk to the state stores

.

Nice haul, Brad. I believe you got the last of the 2020 Warre's Vinhas Velhas in the entire state. I didn't buy any because by the time they mature I could be gone.

Haha, I mean heck, I feel that way about some VP I'm buying as well. At least a lot of these vintages of the last 20-25 years show pretty darn well young too. I did leave one for a young store clerk who mentioned to the guy cashing me out that she was going to buy one to split with her coworker for a girls night.

What doofus would auction off those?? Aren't they private sale only bottles?
Great find! Do they say 40+?

Correct. Brunheda's commercial brand is Blackett. Anything labeled "Quinta de Brunheda" is technically a cask sample and a private sale, and they're different every time. Unless you know exactly when 2 bottles were purchased (and that they were purchased together), their contents are almost certainly different Ports.
Which also makes them risky to purchase at auction. They'd be very easy to fake.
(Not saying or even implying that these are... just that it'd be really easy to make them and very difficult to prove since it's a different Port every time they bottle it. I would only ever buy them from someone I know who knows the entire custody chain of the bottles.)

Although that label looks exactly right.

Seems like Small Potatoes to fake a $150 bottle. Understand what you are saying, Glenn, but an easy roll of the dice.

Sure, and I wasn't implying that your bottles might be fake. As Eric said, the picture looks exactly correct.
Of course... they just print the labels on an inkjet printer, so that's why they'd be incredibly easy to fake. Plus their labels aren't exactly
standardized so minor variations are to be
expected, not a sign of something fishy. "Simples not for sale," anyone?

Actually, by numbers, the most faked wines are less than $20 a bottle.
No reason to think yours is a fake. But it had to come from someone who’s been there in person and was actually able to acquire from them. That’s a small pool.

Yes. A small pool and a great wine for a great price. Maybe someone was unable to enjoy them and had to sell their cellar for whatever unfortunate reason. Great pickup though! Wish I had more.. Only got 4 between 2 trips. Opened one at a tasting for my wine club and many jaws dropped.
