I left this in the decanter and tasted it over three days. Still a deep purple with no signs of bricking or fading. Initially this showed a little more heat across the board than other bottles of this I've had, but by the end of day two it had subsided considerably. The fruit was very tight early on and it was a bit rough to drink the first day, between the aggressive tannins, bright acidity, restrained fruit, and heat. By day two this really started to come around as the silky yet dense fruit became more expressive and it started to become better balanced as the tannins mellowed just a little. This bottle didn't show quite as well as others I've had, although I don't think there was anything wrong with it, its just this bottle seemed to be in a very awkward stage. I would leave this in the cellar for another 5 or so years for it to sort itself out.

Thanks for taking one for the team--in this case me. I have a bottle of this and thought I should wait--now you've confirmed it for me. I'll wait to 2015. :thanks:
