Decant: 5 days - Bottled 2007. The colour of rosewood with the patina of age. Brown sugar and cloves on the nose, Elegant entry, quite thick texture bringing dates, walnuts and fresh cranberry acidity. Lovely nuances in the mid-palate as a myriad of sugar and rum fudge flavours jostle for prominance. Swallowing gives a slight burn and a flavour that reminds me of Ben 'n' Jerry's Caramel Chew-Chew ice cream, but this goes to be replaced by a sweet - slightly sickly - marmalade. Pleasant, but not as good as I remember from when I was drinking this before the GC 77. 90 points
