Decant: None - Bottled 1943. Light colour, golden chestnut, clear and glowing. Rubber bands on the nose, a touch of mint from the spirit and not much else. Sweet, smooth entry followed by an attack of freshly ground black pepper but reasonably well balanced by the acidity and with a lovely thick texture. The aftertaste starts with a warm glow that keeps going for a fair amount of time. An enjoyable wine overall. 91 points
