Decant: 15 hours - Light red in colour, pale rose rime and a transparent centre. Nose very closed, virtually nothing coming from it; perhaps a few milky tones, if anything. A very neutral entry, dry and tannic amidst all the redcurrant fruit. Needs lots more time in the bottle or decanter, still a little one-dimensional but seems to have the stuffing to develop more complexity and interest. A huge burst of spiciness on swallowing, which fades back to a strong flavour of bitter chocolate. My guess was the blockbuster that is the Dow '70. 89 points
