TN: 1977 Fonseca Vintage Port

Decant: 12 hours - The star of the night. Not as dark as the Smith Woodhouse or the Gould Campbell but still with plenty of red left. Not much coming out on the nose but a fantastic elegance and balance in the mouth with just the right combination of sweetness, acidty and tannin showing through the wonderful fruit. Long and lasting aftertaste. The balance between elegance and power led me to correctly guess that this was the Fonseca. A great port - but not a 100 point port. 95 points
