For The Love Of Port

Decant: 15 days - Paler than the Dow 1970 drunk at the same time, watery into the rim with an orange overtone. Not a strong smell, alcohol carrying tones of floral and grassy notes. Very sweet and thick (syrupy) into the mouth. Tastes initially of molasses and very sugary tea. Peppery spiciness from the alcohol comes through, followed by some vegetal fruit. Pleasant in an odd way. Long and vibrant aftertaste that overwhelms the mouth and is quite astonishing given the weakness in the mouth. Makes me wonder what the wine would be like if it had only had 1 day in the decanter. 87 points
