TN: 1994 Kopke Vintage Port

Decant: 24 hours double decanted - Lighter in colour than the Graham and Noval shown alongside, a pale rose on the rim. Slightly dirty - herbaceous perhaps - on the nose, with stewed fruit showing through. Stewed and oddly balanced in the mouth with the acidity, tannins and fruit not aligned and an odd soapiness to the flavours although the wine does have a good length. Either a bad bottle or a wine which is completely closed down. On this showing the wine would warrant a rating of 84-86, but who knows what will happen if it is only closed down. NR points
