Decant: 24 hours - Deep red in colour, opaque centre but showing a touch of brown on the rim. A warm nose, rich in dark cherries and a touch of cloves. Sweet in the mouth, full of prunes and cherry juice. There is very well balanced acidity providing a nice structure. The tannins are present but fuilly resolved. There is plenty of complexity in the mouth and a lovely silky feel. The aftertaste starts with a slight burst of heat but then develops a rich, dark fruitcake complex that is extremely enjoyable and of a very respectable length. Many of the recent bottles drunk have not shown as well as this, clearly the best bottle I have tried in the last 12-18 months. Perhaps the extended decanting time has paid off. 90 points
