Decant: 48 hours - Very deep red, still opaque and intensely coloured on the rim , despite being 32 years old. Full of sweet and perfumed blackcurrants on the nose, inviting and luscious. Quite dry on entry, restrained but massively fruity. A huge wine, with an astonishing tannic backbone, but the volume of fruit to pull this off. Wonderful complexity, showing more flavours and more subtleties the longer you can resist swallowing. But when you do finally swallow there is an explosion of favour absolutely dominates the mouth and which fades very slowly over the next 2 minutes. A mouthfilling wine that is still 20 years away from maturity - astonishing. 92 points
