Decant: 8 hours - Solid red colour, centre just off opaque. Nose slightly smelly, some bottle stink wearing off - rubber banks and lime / coffee. Subdued entry, slightly harsh and with vigorous acidity. The fruit is restrained, dominated by sweet and stewed blackberry. The tannins are almost fully integrated. The aftertaste is lovely, elegant and perfumed with a long and flavoursome bitter chocolate finish. There is something not quite right about this bottle - either a bad bottle or a wine going through an interim closed phase. 86 points
