Decant: 0 hours - Filtered style of LBV. Solid red, opaque, just a touch of bricking on the edge. Tasted on a pop 'n' pour basis on a flight from London to Chicago. Long legs in the glass, with the tears holding the red colour of the youthful port. Nose of bramble and sage, some very interesting aromatic herbs dominating the nose. Dry entry with restrained fruit and the herbaceousness dominating initially but sweet bramble juice coming through the mid palate, with the sweetness offset by a dry tannic but overly acidic structure. The tannins fade to leave just the fruit. When the port is swallowed, the aftertaste is dominated by the pure chocolate tannins that sit within a fruit wrapper. The aftertaste is quite long. This is a decent LBV, which is perfectly respectable, but nothing exceptional. 84 points
