1977 Barros Colheita Port

Purchased last year on clearance at my local QFC. I've always enjoyed the Sogevinus '77 Colheitas, so couldn't pass these up.
1977 Barros Colheita
bottled in 2006
Medium dark tawny color, very slightly cloudy. Nose of caramel, brown sugar, and a touch of VA. Luscious in the mouth, though not creamy - there's a very slight gritty texture to it that feels a bit like tannins. Lots of maple, brown sugar, caramel, coffee, cinnamon, and possibly some nutmeg. Good, but not great acidity. Finish is long and even with a pleasant warmth. Outstanding on its own instead of dessert, or just to sip along with mild cheeses.
94 points.
