From a rare 2,100ml bottle. Hot and disjointed, but less evolved than 750ml bottles I’ve had. I don’t know how long this was decanted but I suspect that may have something to do with it, as I’ve recently had several bottles of this have shown far better. 89 points

In that large of a format (tregnum ... very cool) it would probably show 10-15 years younger than a typical 750 ml bottle and if that is the case, I would bet it is not a decant issue, but just will need more time to evolve from seeming like an ugly stepchild ... just as you know that wine did for so many years when younger in 750.

Yes very possible. As its only been in the past couple years where this has finally started to mellow and integrate very nicely, at least in 750ml formats.

Makes sense. The vintage is bit backwards or hot compared to other 77's. It could be just it needs more time rather than it was a poor vintage for Grahams as many say.

It is the singular VP that I have had to seriously back track from earlier impressions where in 1995 I went on the record (it was already 18) saying it was "a disjointed mess" as it was so very hot on entry/mid-section/finish and was painful to drink. Last five years, it has been in the 92-93 point range, which is a far cry from the 1990s.
