1961 Quinta de Val Coelho LBV Port
375ml bottle. Ok, I fully admit I thought there would be no way a ½ bottle of LBV from a little obscure Quinta, on the north side of Douro River just east of Quinta do Vesuvio, would still be good. Boy, were we wrong about that. While the color was a cloudy brown, the nose had loads of Christmas cake, brown sugar, and orange skins. The palate was sweet up front with lots of acidity showing later. Plenty of spices and Christmas cake, with a touch of heat on a long full finish. Quite the treat I must say. 91 points
