Purchased in the past two years at auction. This bottle had a big hard wax capsule; that plus the age led me to tong it. Tonged and decanted about four hours before tasting. Cork looked to be in pretty good shape from what little I could see at the bottom of the bottle top. No formal notes taken then or when tasting, so the following is from memory.
Color was surprisingly red for a 1965, with some browning. Aroma was fairly fruity, and I noticed a little bit of strawberry. In the mouth this still had lots of fruit as well. There was some warmth, but well integrated. Body seemed on the lighter side for a Grahams, and this reminded me a bit of 1977 Warres. Not very tannic, and acids were pretty mild as well. After a while a spicy side showed, with a fair bit of cinnamon. This was really pleasant drinking throughout with a decent but not overly long finish. I and all my guests thought this bottle really showed well for its age, and an off-year Port. The single remaining pour the next day was still holding up well and nearly as enjoyable.
93 points. Probably won't get better, but this bottle suggests that it might still last a while.
