Pop and pour and a quick small tasting before I poached pears in the rest of the bottle. Big fruit up front, jammy and Concorde grape, and good tannins. Borderline too sweet. After a while the fruit settled down a little bit to let some character show through. Sweetness also seemed to subside and a little acid made for some pleasant sipping. Maybe this just needs some decant time to let it show its best. 88 points.
