Tasted with Master Blender Fernando Oliveira at C.N. Kopke in Vila Nova de Gaia on 04-OCT-2010 as part of the 2010 Port Harvest Tour.
Part of the flight that became known as "wines that don't suck." All were outstanding.

1957 Kopke Colheita
bottled 2010

Dark tawny. Perfumed nose - now we're talking! Bold, very round, very rich. Very slight edge that probably cost it half a point.

Score: 95+ points. I had very high expectations for the '57 Kopke, and despite the score I was somewhat disappointed. Like I said - VERY high expectations. I was looking for an epiphany from this famous vintage, and instead got "merely" an outstandingly good Port.
