Tasted with Master Blender Fernando Oliveira at C.N. Kopke in Vila Nova de Gaia on 04-OCT-2010 as part of the 2010 Port Harvest Tour.
Part of the flight that became known as "wines that don't suck." All were outstanding.

1937 Kopke Colheita
bottled 2007

Medium dark tawny. Tanned leather, slight hint of soap. Coffee and toasted wood in the mouth. Crisp finish that's somewhat clipped, but just barely.

Score: 94 points. Another "disappointing" showing for a legendary Port. Perhaps past experience with Kopke has set the bar too high for me, because (again, despite the score) this just didn't live up to expectations.
