NV Offley Ruby Port

My wife needed a bottle of Port for her reduction sauce and I opened this but took a large glass and put it aside for over an hour, nearly two before getting to try it. Very surprised to say, it was extremely tasty. In fact, it is as good as any basic Ruby Port I've tasted. Clean, mouthfilling and very pure, fresh flavors with a moderately long finish. Impressive and I'd recommend this any time, if you are looking for something inexpensive to sip, cook with or pair with a dessert. Really nice! 85 points - which may sound high for a RUBY, but this IS deserving!

My very first port. I bought it tentatively, because I had not done my research yet. The smell upon opening was fruity ...almost like church wine.
After the first sip, my concerns were abated! I could really get into this! Especially at such a low price. The first few sips were pleasant, and then opened
up. What a great desert...it inspired me to try Offley's Tawny, of which I was not as impressed.

*I will reserve my score until I have tried many more Ports*

All in all, a wonderful first Port for some one debating if it is a drink they would like to develop a relationship with.

Aaron,

As a relative newbie myself, may I suggest that a nice entry tawny would be a Taylor 20. Think liquid french toast and take a sip. This is the one that peaked my initial interest in Tawny Ports.
