1995 Quinta do Noval Colheita Port

Post by Rune EG »

Bottled 2010. Decanted 2 hrs. Price here in Norway has been too high for this port. But before Christmas the importer did a stock reduction stunt and reduced the price with 55 % down to abt USD 38. I managed to get a case before it jumped up again, now to USD 100. Have already had two bottles, showing as follows:

Still quite red colour, but with a clear brown touch. Pleasant aroma full of nuts, some oak and fortunately spirit at a low level. Balanced, smooth, some power. One of the better younger colheitas I have tasted. 92 pts.

Nice note Rune. I also find very few young Colheita bottlings impress me, although a recent Niepoort and Kopke hit my funny bone and really were impressive youngster's too. TN's in next week's newsletter.
