Unfiltered, bottled in 2009. The cork was stained nearly to the top though there was no sign of leakage. I drank this over 3 days:
Dark purple at the center turning to a transluscent reddish-purple at the edges. Smokey black cherry and blackberry fruit on the nose as well as an earthy note - coffee? graphite? It's rather difficult to coax out of the glass. There's lots of sweet black cherry and mineral on the palate - concentrated and medium to full-bodied with a big streak of peppery alcohol that's become more integrated since tasting it on the first night, though it still comes off fairly hot even on day 3. This seemed pretty tight and spirity compared to the bottle I drank last year. Very tasty nonetheless with a fairly long finish. 88 pts, Tasted 2/11
