1994 Pocas LBV Port

From a batch of LBVs that I tasted over a couple of days in late 2010.
1994 Pocas LBV
unfiltered, bottled 1999
Color: Medium dark garnet
Nose: Rum soaked dates, some tomato paste, and perfumed alcohol.
Palate: Smooth and very even. A nice spectrum of fruits including dates and dark raisins. Creamy tannins, adequate acidity. Outstanding mouth feel.
Finish: Darkly fruity, smooth, and even. Some heat. Very long.
Score: 95 points. I believe this is the highest I've ever scored an LBV, but it easily deserved the score. This tasted and felt more like a top-tier Vintage Port than an LBV. Really fantastic stuff!
